sorry i've been away for a while, i've had loads of exams but loads has happened since the last time i posted. i cant say all of it here but for those who know me, WOW.

today masood barzani was sworn in as president of Kurdistan. doesn't mean a lot to me but i know that if the guy and his family is going to rule kurdistan for the next four years then what is going to happen to the kurds? PUK are in a mess and KDP in my opinion are backwards. We dont have a decent party in Kurdistan at the moment. In hewler it showed many with their 'yellow kdp flags'. i mean if Kurdistan had any sense, they could stop that, i mean it iS supposed to be a victory for kurds as a whole, not just for KDP. that was the whole point to there being a parliament GOSH!
but i cant really say anything because when mam jalal became head of iraq, Suliamany was green all over.
i give my respect to those who celebrate these sorta things with KURDISH flags , no dumb colours-because thats just a waste of time, and showing that we kurds aren't ready to unite.
i think the Kurdish government should take a few tips from the iraqi one at the moment, because they seem to be the only ones following the rules in Iraq.

I might go Kurdistan this summer, CANT WAIT!!!

Smile For Newroz

Newroz is on its way. well the celebrations have started in some areas and i have been waiting for it for a year believe it or not. I love Newroz, it's like the equivalent to christmas for the people living in the west. It's when everybody is happy, when nobody shouts-because it's newroz, a time for loving and sharing.

Well it is for some Newroz celebrators. But not so much for the kurds i know. Wouldn't it be great if people were genuinly happy with no worries-i mean one day>how hard could it be??
i wish people weren't so money driven and so conscious of what people think. Newroz is a time for celebration, for only one day in the whole year. I mean, it's just plain laziness if you won't go and support the celebrations for Newroz, whether it be going to a kurdish party or just a fire. Some excuses can be acceptable-but for those who claim they're 'working' (you know who you are)-shame on you.People get off your backsides and celebrate a valuable part of our culture-i mean the iranians celebrate A LOT and life IS too short to waste sitting at home on your settee.
So if you can't celebrate..be happy this Newroz...

Would it harm if i could at least get a smile out of you all??

the reality

we kurdish people are buried deep in the ground. we fight over minor things and we argue over nothing. over the past few weeks i have witnessed a number of events of which kurdish people have been physically or verbally fighting. They included death threats, stabbings, murdering, swearing to just disagreeing. This was all recent. It's a shame that one of the major fights which occured was witnessed by turks aswell. As i recall them saying, 'you kurdish people, how do you think you'll get a country if you can't even behave within yourselves'. If a turk is saying this to us, then shouldn't we be ashamed of ourselves? That night led to someone being taken to hospital. But revenge is sweet, no? When they get out of the hospital, they go for payback time. The people involved were all related, and kurdish of course. Even though, you may think revenge is something that cannot be avoided, well it can. As the saying goes, 'it's better to be the first to say sorry-even if it wasn't entirely your fault', at least you will be likely to calm down the argument, and maybe even prevent it from getting violent.
And then there's this kurd from turkey, in the UK, who is wanted for a number of sexual assults on women. They are all disgracing the kurdish name.
Closer to home now, about a week ago PKK fighters went to the outskirts of Sulaimany and killed some old kurdish deserters from western kurdistan. whether they call themselves 'kongra-gel' now or whatever-is this not wrong?
And for some of the people i know, how do they expect kurdistan to ever get anywhere if they weren't even bothered to go up to wembley to vote? I went to wembley even though i couldn't vote, just to support the kurds. Will we ever get a 'Kurdistan' at this rate we are going??
There are so many problems that we kurds are creating for ourselves, and not sorting out for the better. I just think that if the kurds continue like this, then we have a long road ahead of us until we finally have a home to call our own.

Today was really cool. i went up to north london with my cousins for shopping and then went down to oxford circus. i got some funny looks though n i saw the cutest guy in H&M!. well what can i say-i got my 'stand up to racism' band from niketown. so it was all good..... :-)

i saw the film turtles can fly. and oh my gosh was it great. there is only one word i can describe it with: beautiful.
i loved the atmosphere in the cinema aswell because i could understand the funny parts to the film and was laughing out loud when everyone else was silent. However it was a magnificent film for everyone not just for kurds. so i recommend it to you all if you haven't seen it yet.
after that i went out to eat which was great because it was a 'full-on' kurdish day for me. which i love. awww i miss kurdistan!!!!!!!
